Sun Belt announces conference schedule for upcoming women’s basketball season

NEW ORLEANS (JMU Athletics) – The Sun Belt Conference released its 2025-26 women’s basketball schedule on Thursday afternoon, with James Madison opening its 18-game league slate on the road at Coastal Carolina on Dec. 17.

The Dukes will remain on the road for a contest at Marshall (Dec. 20), before returning to Harrisonburg for a New Year’s Day tilt versus Georgia State and wrapping up the weekend against Texas State (Jan. 3).

From there, JMU will head to the Peach State to face Georgia Southern (Jan. 7) and Georgia State (Jan. 10). Women’s hoops then makes its way back to the Atlantic Union Bank Center to complete its regular-season series with the Thundering Herd (Jan. 15) and the Eagles (Jan. 17).

Next, the Dukes head west for a matchup with ULM (Jan. 22) and a rematch of the Sun Belt title game when they square off against Arkansas State on Jan. 24 – the first battle between the two programs in Jonesboro, Ark.

JMU will conclude the month with home tilts against Louisiana (Jan. 29) and South Alabama (Jan. 31) before embarking on a three-game road swing featuring Southern Miss (Feb. 4), App State (Feb. 11) and Old Dominion (Feb. 14).

Women’s Basketball then closes the regular season with three consecutive home contests: App State (Feb. 21), Old Dominion (Feb. 25) and Coastal Carolina (Feb. 27). The meetings with the Monarchs and Chanticleers will serve as double-headers in conjunction with the men’s basketball team.

The Sun Belt Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will take place from Tuesday, March 3, to Monday, March 9, at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla. All 14 teams qualify for the event.
