HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison lacrosse has been ranked No. 22 in the latest IWLCA Division I Coaches’ Poll, as announced on Monday.

The ranking is one spot lower than the No. 21 spot JMU occupied in last week’s rankings

The recognition comes on the heels of a busy week for the Dukes, in which they secured a 13-7 win over Virginia Tech at Sentara Park for their first victory of the season. Three days later, JMU clashed with UConn at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md., and handled business with a 13-11 win against the Huskies.

James Madison remains the only team in the American to appear in the poll. Through three games, JMU ranks third in the league in goals per game, points per game, and assists per game.

The Dukes will make their way to Ithaca, N.Y., for their first true road game of the season against Cornell on Sunday, Feb. 22. First draw is scheduled for noon and will be streamed on ESPN+.
