The 600 block of North Liberty Street is currently closed to all traffic because of heavy police presence, and the City of Harrisonburg is advising folks to avoid the area until further notice.
Barricades are in place beginning on either side of the 600 block. City communications director Mike Parks said that the city is limited as to what information it can reveal at this time, but more details will be released as the day goes along.
Police and emergency personnel have been in the area for several hours, according to residents living in the area.
