STAUNTON, Va. — A Staunton man has admitted to killing a 2-year-old girl more than a year ago.

Christopher Scott Hoover was supposed to go to trial next Tuesday but instead pleaded guilty to second degree murder during a hearing this morning in Staunton Circuit Court.

Police say the 24-year-old Hoover was responsible for the death of Averianna May in June of last year. He was described as being in a caregiver role at the time of her death.
