MATHIAS WV: (WSVA) – Tragedy over the weekend in Hardy County, West Virginia as five people – including four children – are dead following a Saturday morning house fire.
According to the West Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office, authorities responded to the blaze at a mobile home on Woods Edge Road, near Mathias, around five A-M.
A 28-year-old man and four children, ages one, two, three and five years old, did not survive. A sixth person, believed to be the children’s mother, reportedly escaped the fire and was hospitalized for her injuries.
The chief investigator says the cause of the fire is undetermined, citing the severe damage to the home.
