HARRISONBURG, Va. – Five home games, matchups against national powers North Carolina and Virginia and a trip to the Savannah Invitational highlight the James Madison men’s basketball team’s 2022-23 non-conference schedule, as announced by Head Coach Mark Byington on Friday.

The Dukes will open their season in the Atlantic Union Bank Center, playing host to Valley Forge (Nov. 7) and Hampton (Nov. 9) on the first week of the season before hitting the road for matchups at Buffalo (Nov. 12) and Howard (Nov. 15).

JMU will make its first-ever trip to Chapel Hill when they head south to face the reigning national runners-up in North Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 20. The Dukes will also head to Charlottesville for a rematch at Virginia on Dec. 6 after knocking off the Cavaliers in Harrisonburg last season.

After taking part in the Savannah Invitational from Nov. 25-27, JMU will also have matchups in Harrisonburg against Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 2), Gallaudet (Dec. 10) and Long Island (Dec. 18).

The Dukes will cap their non-conference slate on Dec. 21 with a trip to Coppin State before resuming the campaign on the other side of the holidays with their Dec. 29 Sun Belt Conference opener at Georgia State.
